Hard at work on many new limited edition statue pieces that we will debut in New York in Feb. Press releases will drop soon on all this but here's a sneak peak for you.
Labyrinth & Dark Crystal from Jim Henson - We are very far along on (2) pieces from these film classics:
Jareth "Goblin King" - Our limited edition has David Bowie as Jareth holding his crystal orb, with that slight smile that make the Goblin King such a lovable villain. He stands on top of the "13 Hour" clock from several scenes in the film.
Dark Crystal - (2) New statues that have Jen posed on top of the Dark Crystal and Jen holding Kira trying to bring her "essence" back are both well underway.
All pieces are done on our Rock Iconz style and scale.
Stay tuned to www.knucklebonz.com for more details soon...

Coming to you from 30K. Internet on the plane is cool, but this use to be vedge-out and drinking time....sigh.
Just finished a review of our Yellow Submarine NoWhere Man statue. It's coming along nicely; we are re-working the texture on his fur and tail to get it more random and "cartoony". That's a technical term. NoWhere Man is a special limited edition that will not be available for sale but will be a special gift for those who buy all (4) Beatles statues via http://www.knucklebonz.com/
You can check details out for the Yellow Submarine NoWhere Man Bundle at http://www.knucklebonz.com/beatles-yellow-submarine-nowhere-man.html
Just finished a new photo shoot at the studio here of our Ronnie James Dio Rock Iconz (R) statue. Did out 60 shots and are reveiwing about 25 of the best w/ Wendy Dio and Niji now. Will be sharing those with you soon...
Much work on 2011 projects ongoing....

Putting finishing touches on the Beatles Yellow Submarine Rock Iconz(R) statues. Shared first pictures of the work w/ Beatles management Apple Corps today. All are really pleased w/ the work in progress and we hope to make a formal announcement w/ color pics of John, Paul, George and Ringo later in the month via www.knucklebonz.com and the Beatles Facebook page.
DIO's Rock Iconz box design was approved by Wendy Dio and Niji so all is tracking for that early December release.
We are fresh off a week long jam session with our sculptors and have kicked off our new Jim Henson "Dark Crystal" figures. Jen will set atop the Dark Crystal with the healing chard held high in the first limited edition piece. In the 2nd statue, he holds a sleeping Kira close as he waits for a miracle from the Mystics...very excited about these pieces.
Work on Jareth (aka. David Bowie) continues on the first statue in our Jim Henson "Labyrinth" series...more info on that as we get into holiday time.
thx and more soon,

In full swing with Blue Meanie production hoping to ship for the holidays. As the piece comes together, I had almost forgotten the total mass of this character, he's massive. It is by far the biggest piece we have done in the Rock Iconz series. Standing next to our Yellow Submarine Beatles sculpts, he truly dwarfs each of the Fab Four and the NoWhere Man...totally faithful to the film. We are in Hong Kong and our matching paint prototype is w/ us. The fight is on over who gets to put him in their office when we get back home...
Check "His Blueness" out here http://www.knucklebonz.com/beatlesbluebeanie.html
Pulling reference for our Dark Crystal Jen and Kira sculpts...more on those in the coming days. The Henson folks are the coolest.

Just finished a 3 day marathon jam session w/ all of our sculptors to crank on all four Beatles designs in our Yellow Submarine series. John, Paul, George and Ringo and all looking super tight and I hope we can share some intial images later in October when we do a formal launch of the series in concert w/ www.beatles.com and The Beatles Facebook page.
Dio product shots are up and we just spoke w/ RJD's management. They will be posting all the images at Dio's Facebook page. Check that out and be one of over 500,000 close friends there.
And oh yes....the all new www.knucklebonz.com is up and running. Check it out and let us know how you like the new site and what products you would like us to create in the coming months...we really enjoy hearing from you.

Our new site is going live as we speak. Will be shaking out the kinks over the next couple of daze...yes DAZE. This is the first major redesign for us in waaay to long.
You might notice a little rock band called The BEATLES in there. That's right! We will be creating a killer Yellow Submarine series in close association w/ Beatles management company Apple Corps Ltd. out of London. They are super cool and have been great to work w/ in our initial design phase. Big press stuff happens in October...lots to do over the next 3 years.
DIO pics are up as well . . . .
Tuesday, September 21, 2010
Ronnie James Dio Rock Iconz statue paint detailing continues and we hope to lock down everything today. Working hard to get RJD's signature eyebrows and other elements ready to share with all of you.
Our new website hopefully goes live tomorrow or Thursday along with a big new announcement. We have not done a major website overhaul in 3 years so this has been a wonderful pain in the ass. We are at each others throats here...will be glad when it's up...
Saturday, September 11, 2010
After way too long we are underway with a complete redesign for our website www.knucklebonz.com Trying to make things cleaner and easier to find our newer pieces. Hope to debut this in a couple of weeks along with exciting news about new projects...
Dio final product shots for you next week, we hope.
Also, we will be doing an interview w/ Kayla from Sirius XM Radio's "The Boneyard" Channel. It will air in segments at knucklebonz.com and other Internet radio website. More on that soon...
Saturday, September 4, 2010
Slugging away after a hard week at it here. Cool news from Dio's management Niji. VH1 Classic's 'That Metal Show' will be doing a 1 hour special on Ronnie James Dio that will air in November. We hope to debut the final Dio "Rock Iconz" statue on that segment if we can be ready for the taping that will happen later this month...
We are final on the first piece from our new series of limited edition statues for Rock Iconz(R). Actually working on the package design today and begin a "fabulous 4" new statue designs this coming week. If you can't guess what we are up to by now there is no hope for humanity ;0

Jimi's London flat where he passed 40 years ago next month is now open to the public. Check out some of this interesting footage of how it appeared in 1970.
The Hendrix statue we did for our original Guitar Hero series had Jimi clad in the military tunic he wore when he first hit London in 1967/68. We did several verions including both a color and gray-scale nostalgia paint scheme to give you the feel of the black and white photos from that period. You can see that here http://knucklebonz.com/jimihendrix.html
We miss you Jimi,

Just did a final review with DIO management of the RJD Rock Iconz(R) statue. Wendy DIO found a great photo of Ronnie that shows some additional details for his leggings and scarves. Will be making one final pass in that area and we will be final on the sculpt. Molds will then be made and we begin the prototype painting stage. Will get pics to fans as soon as we get final approval there. All still looks good to ship in December in time for the holidays....
Friday, August 20, 2010
Just finished a review of our Dio sculpt and made plans for what we think will be final changes over the next 2 days. We actually received Ronnie's purple and black leggings from his 1984 costume here at the studio to help with those details. Very cool to see those up close...
Getting ready for a big press release on a big series of figures that will come to Rock Iconz for the next 3 years...we are buzzin' here about that. Can't wait to let you'all in on it.
Tuesday, August 17, 2010
Lots of movement over the weekend on Dio and the super secret new project we will let out in a couple of weeks. Dio's sculpt was shown to his management and wife Wendy for the first time. All are thrilled...we are expecting some actual costume elements from 1984 @ the studio here today to help with detailing. If all keeps moving at this pace, will be able to share the final RJD sculpt w/ fans soon...
Wednesday, August 11, 2010
Lots of revisions going on for holiday KnuckleBonz® products as well as some things that we will debut for 2011. We are also beginning a website redesign…it’s about time ;0
Spent a good deal of time with Dio's Rock Iconz® piece yesterday. We are beginning to refine his costume as well as small details on his portrait/hair. His boots are looking smashing if we do say so here. I would say we are at about 80% on the figure. If all keeps moving forward we hope to be showing the sculpt to Wendy Dio and Niji managment next week for the first time....excited and nervous as always.
The other officially licensed stuff we are working on is still held up in legal (ahhhh). Can share that soon.
Friday, August 6, 2010
Thanks to all of you who have called and emailed about our new Ronnie James Dio Rock Iconz® project. We have shared your well wishes with Wendy Dio and all the people at Ronnie’s Management Company, Niji. Everyone is touched and excited.
Ronnie’s sculpt is well underway and we are beginning to dial in the costume details. Dean at Niji provided us with some great concert footage from 1984 that is guiding us…will share pics of work in progress as soon as we can.
Lots of other KnuckleBonz limited edition statues are underway as well, but we can’t let you in on them until all those nasty contract and business details are nailed down…sigh. Some of these will be a bit of a departure for us so we hope all our fans and collectors around the world are into it.
Wednesday, August 4, 2010
By now many of you are hearing of our new Rock Iconz® project for Ronnie James Dio. To say it’s a great honor and privilege to be working with Ronnie’s family and friends at the Niji Entertainment Group would be the understatement of the year. While there is much excitement here about this new statue, it’s not without mixed emotion. It was not a matter of “if” we would try to get w/ Ronnie to create a limited edition piece for our Rock Iconz Series it was just “when.” One of last internal meetings on new projects was after Thanksgiving 2009. At that time we had just learned on RJDs illness so we thought it best to wait for his recovery to approach Niji for a project. As we now know, Ronnie was very sick w/ his cancer and that recovery would not come.
Most of us here at KnuckleBonz were onto Dio early with the first Rainbow records. Ronnie’s soaring vocals and unrivaled talent on top of the mystical elements of that band were a one-of-a kind combo. We never left Ronnie’s music from that point on and we never will.
Will be blogging here as regularly as we can to give you updates on the production…more soon.
PS – Portions of our proceeds from the sales of this limited edition statue at www.knucklebonz.com will go to the Ronnie James Dio "Stand Up and Shout" Cancer Fund . . .
